Tianlan Deng is a part-time instructor in SA/VS (School Art of Visual Study), University of Kentucky. He got a MFA degree from University of Kentucky and a BFA degree from Shanghai University that majored in Chinese painting. Tianlan Deng interests in defining the new contemporary identity of China’s youth, and his work addresses this theme mainly through installation practice. Currently, Tianlan Deng is producing a project in relation to Contemporary Chinese educational systems, which plays as a crucial role in defining the identity of China’s younger generations. Also, Tianlan Deng recently won a large design commission for the Gatton building in the College of Business and Economics.
